Our client, a licensed Deposit Taking Sacco headquartered in Kwale County, is seeking to recruit a qualified and highly motivated individual to fill the position of a Micro Credit Officer.

MICRO CREDIT OFFICER REF: (SS/MCO/05/24)

Reporting to Head of Credit, the individual will be responsible for the day-today coordination of the credit functions in the SACCO, ensuring high customer service standards are maintained and total compliance to the SACCO lending policies and procedures.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Market Micro-credit products and services to the target clients and maintain the image of Micro-Credit activities
• Deposit Mobilization
• Maintain good relationship with groups and frequent visits
• Disbursement and processing of loans
• Maintain quality portfolio by closely monitoring repayment of loans from customers and ensuring prompt follow-ups
• Recruiting clients, groups and business appraisal
• To identify and locate prospective micro-credit clients
• To plan periodic visits to identifiable clients
• Prepare Micro-Credit loan applications for approval
• Prepare weekly and monthly returns/reports to the Head of Credit

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or a Business-Related Degree from a recognized university.
• CPA II or Credit Management Certification.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in micro credit in a busy financial institution.
• Sound knowledge of Sacco laws and regulations.
• A person of integrity, team player with effective communication skills.
• Sound judgement and decision-making ability on lending across all sectors.
• Excellent in analytical, interpersonal and team management skills.
• loan monitoring, generating reports and initiative on improvement of service delivery.
